Andrew Moore’s Winning Streak Continues on Jeopardy!

Andrew Moore of Buford won his sixth consecutive game Monday (June 24) on the TV quiz show Jeopardy! and returns to play again Tuesday (June 25). Moore will attempt to add to his $137,803 winnings against two new challengers.

“I felt confident that I could do well if a little luck went my way,” said Moore of his performance to date in a news release. “I tried to hit high dollar values early when other players might be more timid, and I jumped around the board a lot to keep my opponents out of rhythm.”

A 28-year-old test prep instructor, Moore is originally from Snellville. He earned a B.A. in history, a B.A. in political science, and a M.A. in political science at the University of Georgia. He thinks that his educational background has contributed to his success on the show.

“History is probably the most prominent academic discipline on the show, so it certainly didn’t hurt,” said Moore, who prepared for his Jeopardy! appearance by watching the show each night and charting his areas of strength and weakness. “I like sports categories, of which there were a couple, and was dreading Shakespeare; thankfully, he never made an appearance.”

Moore and his wife are in the process of building a new house, and he plans to use a portion of his Jeopardy! winnings towards that project. He also intends to put some of the prize money towards college funds for his children.
