AquaPalooza and 'The Hobbit'

There will be two unique entertainment options in Buford and Sugar Hill this weekend (July 26-27).

AquaPalooza, which is geared for boating enthusiasts, is Saturday at Lake Lanier Islands, beginning at 9 a.m. Hundreds of boats are expected, the website says. Activities will include "beach olympics" and children's games, as well as live music.

In Sugar Hill, the 2012 movie "The Hobbit" will be shown Friday, 7 p.m., in the Reels on the Lawn event at  Gary Pirkle Park. Admission is free for the big-screen event.
