
Andrew Moore, a test prep instructor from Buford, prepared himself well for his appearance on the popular TV quiz show Jeopardy! Moore will be returning next week as the champion.
Moore won $31,200 Monday (June 17) night defeating previous champion Eric Maitland and another new contestant Renee Hennessy. Maitland had started Monday night’s show with earlier winnings of $28,400.
They answered questions in categories that included anagrams, autobiographies, children’s books, dictionary, geometry, history, weather, and others.

Leading with $19,200 when it was time for the Final Jeopardy! question, Moore wagered $12,000 on his answer to an “In the Newspaper” question.
He was the only contestant to answer columnist “Abigail Van Buren” to a question about a name based on a wise woman in the Bible that also was the name of a 19th century U.S. president.

Moore returns to compete on Jeopardy! next Monday, June 24. Jeopardy! airs locally Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on WXIA-TV.
