Gattis Joins Gwinnett Braves; Constanza Heads for Atlanta

More player moves between the G-Braves and Atlanta are possible.

The Gwinnett Braves' roster got another big-name addition Friday (July 12). Also, another player headed for the parent club with other imminent player shuffles a possibility.

Evan Gattis, who began the season as Atlanta's starting catcher to replace Brian McCann, went 0-for-4 at Durham to begin an injury rehab stint with Gwinnett. The G-Braves lost to Durham, 3-0, Friday.

However, after Friday's game, Atlanta recalled outfielder Jose Constanza from Gwinnett, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The parent club suffered injuries to outfielders B.J. Upton and Justin Upton in Friday's loss to Cincinnati.

Because of those injuries, Joey Terdoslavich, who was brought up from Gwinnett earlier this week, finished Friday's game in Atlanta's outfield.

Gattis hit .252 with 14 home runs for Atlanta before being injured June 17.

The G-Braves return to Coolray Field on July 18.
