Dispute Leads To Shooting Death On Main Street In Downtown Buford
Gwinnett County Police have made an arrest after a dispute led to a shooting death Tuesday afternoon in downtown Buford.

BUFORD, GA — A a 34-year-old man has been arrested after, police say, he shot and killed another man during a dispute Tuesday afternoon on Main Street in Buford. Both the victim's and shooter's identification is being withheld pending the investigation and notification of the next of kin. No other parties were injured during the altercation.
Gwinnett Police received a call at 12:10 p.m. to a report of an active shooter happening at the intersection of South Lee Street and West Main Street in downtown Buford. Officers responded and located a dead man in the roadway.
Police determined that it was not an active shooter but a shooting due to a dispute between known parties. A description of the shooter was obtained and given to responding units. The man was apprehended moments later as he was trying to flee the area on foot.

Detectives are working to determine what led to the dispute and subsequent shooting, police said.
