Lake Lanier Moves Fireworks Show to Saturday

Another holiday event in the Gwinnett area has fallen victim to threatening weather forecast.

The threatening weather forecast for the Fourth of July has forced another schedule change.

In a Facebook posting Wednesday, Lake Lanier Islands said that its fireworks event has been moved from Thursday night to Saturday night, July 6. The show is to begin at dark.

A posting also noted that all other events throughout the holiday week and weekend remain unaffected.

Some other Gwinnett communities have postponed planned fireworks shows because of forecasts of heavy rain and other storm activity.

Patch will have updates on the weather situation.
