$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in South Forsyth

It was purchased at a fuel kiosk at a grocery store.

A Suwanee area resident is $1 million richer after a recent Powerball drawing.

According to a Georgia Lottery news release, Carlton Davis, 49, won the prize in the Sept. 14 Powerball drawing.Β 

Davis boughtΒ the winning Quik Pik ticketΒ at aΒ Kroger fuel kiosk in south Forsyth CountyΒ atΒ 3651 Peachtree Parkway in Suwanee, lottery officials said.

β€œI looked at the numbers on the screen and on the ticket, and they looked alike,” he said in the release. β€œI said, β€˜Wow!’ I almost fell out. It was unreal, and I couldn’t believe it.”

The winning numbers from the Sept. 14 drawing were: 1-17-25-37-44, and the Powerball was 20. Davis' ticketΒ matched the first five winning numbers.

A computer analyst, Davis intends to invest his winnings.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing is at an estimated $60 million to a single annuity winner. Tickets are $2 per play.
