After a "diligent search," Forsyth's Warrant and P.A.C.E Unit were able to track down Battle with the assistance of the Roswell Police Department following a foot chase.

At around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, Alpharetta 911 received a call from a store clerk at BP at 5005Β Windward Parkway, and told dispatchers a robbery had taken place at the store.Β

Two men allegedly entered the store, and one suspect jumped the counter and snatched the cash register drawer.

Both men fled the scene in a Jeep parked on the side of the building, which authorities believed was occupied byΒ Battle.Β

The store clerk was able to provide the license plate number for the Jeep, and the direction it traveled when it left the premises.

Alpharetta issued an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies. It was later determined the suspects drove to a home in Forsyth County, and pulled into the residence's garage.Β

As Forsyth deputiesΒ pulled up to the home, one of the suspects, armed with a weapon,Β allegedly fled the house out the back door.Β

Battle fled into a wooded area, and another suspect,Β Fredrequis Cobbs, was found hiding in the back floorboard area of the Jeep and was arrested. The North Fulton and Forsyth CountyΒ SWAT Teams mobilized to hunt for Battle, but were unsuccessful in their efforts.

β€œThis case has been a great example of the multi-jurisdictional relationship we have set up in the past year," said Forsyth Sheriff Duane K. Piper.Β "We worked with Alpharetta and Roswell officials in the apprehension of this individual who has an extensive history in North Fulton.Β Our Warrant and P.A.C.E Units tirelessly tracked down leads and eventually took him into custody with the help of Roswell police."

Battle remains held without bond at the Forsyth County Detention Center and is charged with burglary, theft by receiving, possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, possession of a sawed-off shotgun and felony obstruction of justice.Β

He is on probation and also has active warrants with multiple jurisdictions in Fulton County.
