Cumming Man Calls 911 After Wife Takes Remote During Football Game

Neither the rowdy Falcons fan nor the remote-taking wife were arrested or charged with a crime, deputies said.

A frustrated football fan in Cumming did the only logical thing when his frazzled wife took away the remote control during Sunday’s Atlanta Falcons game.

He called 911.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a house on Slater Street in the area of Windermere Parkway and Buford Highway just after 10 p.m. after a man called the emergency number. Once deputies arrived, he told them he wanted to file a report to start a paper trail in case things got more heated, but added he didn’t think it was likely.

According to statements in the incident report, the man’s zealous support of a Dirty Birds touchdown caused his sleeping wife to β€œRise Up” from her slumber upstairs, take the remote away, and tell her beloved to quiet down. That’s when the husband called 911.

β€œMediation occurred and all parties were calm and separated at last contact,” the incident report says. No arrests were made and no charges were filed.
