The Orangeburg County sheriff told the news outlet that the 8-year-old boy’s father called 911 after the child said Theriot had touched him inappropriately while both were in a restroom and had asked the child to do the same to him.

An Orangeburg County judge denied Theriot’s bail, deeming him a threat to other children. Theriot allegedly told the judge he had served probation for an earlier child molestation offense, WCSC says.
