Cumming Teen Injured in Single-Vehicle Wreck

The young woman was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the wreck but was not ejected from the vehicle, sheriff's deputies said.

A 17-year-old Cumming woman was injured after she lost control of car and crashed into a tree on Sunday, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to investigators, the woman’s blue 2009 Nissan Versa was traveling north on Westray Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Versa left the roadway, skidding into the northbound shoulder before going down an embankment, through a field, up another embankment, and striking a tree head-on. The vehicle continued into a barbed wire fence before stopping in the 6700 block of Westray Road, sheriff’s deputies said.
