Death At Forsyth Jail Being Investigated

A 40-year-old man was found dead in his cell Sunday when Forsyth County Jail deputies were waking inmates for morning breakfast.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA β€” A 40-year-old man was found dead in his cell Sunday at 4:30 a.m. when Forsyth County Jail Deputies were waking inmates for morning breakfast.

Timothy Theodore Weidler, of Auburn, failed to respond and was found lying in his bed unresponsive. Weidler’s family has been notified, police reported.

According to police, deputies began first aid and medical personnel responded, however the inmate was pronounced dead.

Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, or GBI, conduct the death investigation, and they arrived at 5:15 a.m.

The body was transported by the Forsyth County Coroner to the GBI’s Crime lab for an autopsy.
