Deputy Returns To Duty After Being Struck By Drunk Driver

Forsyth County Deputy First Class Rod Reeves is back on duty after nearly 14 months of surgeries and physical therapy.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA β€” Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy First Class Rod Reeves has returned to duty after more than a year of sugeries and physical therapy after being hit by a drunk driver.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 18, 2017, Reeves was parked in his patrol car on the shoulder of GA 400 when he was struck at full speed by a drunk driver. After nearly 14 months, that included several surgeries and months of physical therapy, the Sheriff's Office reports that Reeves is returning to full duty.

"It has been a long road of recovery for DFC Reeves and his family, and we are proud of his work to fight to get back to the job he loves! And we are thrilled to have him back!" reads a Facebook post made Monday.

The Sheriff's Office gave DFC Reeves a much-needed replacement vehicle and took a photo of him with his new 2019 FCSO Tahoe.
