Police have released new information on a fatal car crash in north Forsyth County that occurred in September. 61-year-old Charles Wilkins of Cumming has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, possession of methamphetamine, driving with an open alcohol container, reckless driving, and numerous other infractions after he caused a crash that killed one person at the intersection of Ga. 400 and Hwy. Additional charges have been levied against Wilkins, who is being held without bail, including possession of drug paraphernalia. (Forsyth County News Online)
  2. Police are investigating a crime where a man was attacked with a hammer in Forsyth County. Brandon Burnett was working in a Hurt Bridge Road building when his relative entered the shop. Devin Smith then beat Burnett savagely around the head with a hammer. Burnett was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Smith has been arrested and charged with assault.   4. Ronald Reagan Boulevard was closed early Friday morning, causing traffic and delays throughout the area. Multiple downed wires around Deputy Cantrell Memorial Boulevard caused dangerous travel conditions for pedestrians and drivers alike. Police suggested alternate routes to reduce traffic congestion.
