FCS Tops State Averages, CCRPI Reports for 2013 and 2012
"Overall, I am excited to see Forsyth County Schools performing at for the most part higher than the previous year's reports." - Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Buster Evans
The College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), a new statewide accountability system based on 2012 school year data, was launched as a "study year" in May 2013. After that release, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) received valuable feedback from its education partners and the public. Based on this feedback, GaDOE staff members have revised and refined the CCRPI to make a more meaningful report.
The updated calculations have increased the rigor of the index. As a result, to ensure that 2012 and 2013 CCRPI reports are an "apples to apples" comparison, the GaDOE staff is releasing the 2012-13 CCRPI with the new calculation but has also recalculated the 2011-12 CCRPI with the revised business rules. 2012 CCRPIReports
We have been anxiously awaiting our schoolsβ CCRPI scores for some time," shared Buster Evans, superintendent of Forsyth County Schools. "We knew that the continuous changes in how the CCRPI calculations are made as well as other changes impacting our schools would be reflected in the scores.Β Overall, I am excited to see Forsyth County Schools performing at for the most part higher than the previous yearβs reports.Β Additionally, several of our schools report out among the top schools in Georgia.Β While our high school averages were the only grade cluster that went down, this appears to mirror what happened pretty much in other districts with their being a slight drop in scores at that level.Β As always, we will use this data as one set of performance indicators for our schools and district.Β We will find ways to celebrate as we look at the scores, and we will find further opportunities to improve at the school and district level."
