Fireworks Weather Forecast: Will It Rain Tuesday Night?

In metro Atlanta, Tuesday night is prime time for fireworks displays. Take a look to see if Georgia weather will be agreeable to the shows.

ATLANTA, GA β€” Don't hold us to it, but we think we've got some good weather news for metro Atlanta folks planning to head out to fireworks displays Tuesday evening.

While there's a chance of rain and thunderstorms today, it's starting to look like most of them will have cleared out by peak fireworks time.

During the day Tuesday, there's a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms in the Atlanta area, according to the National Weather Service.

But the NWS forecast says the best chances for storms will be between noon and 6 p.m.

Moving to Tuesday night, the chance of rain is, again, 30 percent. But that will most likely happen before 7 p.m. β€” well before nightfall, when most displays are set to start.

Digging into the weather service's hour-by-hour forecast for Tuesday provides even more reason for hope. The most recent forecast has the evening's chance of rain peaking at 25 percent at around 6 p.m.

By 9 p.m., which is when many fireworks shows get started, that chance will be down to 18 percent.

We probably don't have to tell you this, but you're going to want to dress like it's summertime when you're on your way out. The high temperature Tuesday is forecast to be 89 degrees, with a low Tuesday night of around 72.

Good luck with the weather, everybody β€” and Happy Independence Day, Georgia!
