Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is providing some tips to those teachers who wish to welcome their children back into the classroom with a celebration β and without the junk food.
Forsyth County School District students go back to school on Thursday, and CHOA is sharing these five tips every teacher and parent should know when throwing a party:
- Ditch the sugary drinks.Β Encourage water, not soda, sports drinks or juice.
- Limit sweet treats. Serve plenty of colorfulΒ fruit and veggiesΒ instead.
- Take the focus off food by planningΒ more activities.
- Create a scavenger hunt, do arts and crafts, have a dance party or enjoy extra playground time.
- Check out your schoolβs wellness policy for more ideasβand add your own!
