Forsyth County Middle Schooler Wins District Spelling Bee
South Forsyth Middle School student, Nimal Murugan, claimed the title as Forsyth County's top speller.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA β A South Forsyth Middle School student has claimed the title as the county's top speller after winning the 2022 Forsyth County Schools Spelling Bee over the weekend.
On Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, 33 students from Forsyth County elementary and middle schools participated in the district spelling bee.
Each student was the winner of their school's individual spelling bee.

After 14 rounds of competition, Nimal Murugan from South Forsyth Middle School was named the the school district's spelling bee champion after correctly spelling the winning word "pharaoh."
The first runner up was Sharanya Vats from North Forsyth Middle School, the second runner up was Aarna Addicam from Kelly Mill Elementary School, and the third runner was Advika Ajay from Shiloh Point Elementary School.

These four students will compete in the Georgia Association of Educators' Region 2 Spelling Bee on Feb. 26..
Ronit Rajpurohit placed fifth and will serve as the alternate, the school district said.
