Forsyth Drug Task Force Makes $105,000 Bust

A man has been arrested after a Forsyth Drug Task Force found more than $105,000 worth of drugs in his possession, police say.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA β€” The Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth Drug Task Force recently made a traffic stop at Castleberry Road and Canton Highway, ultimately resulting in a $105,000 drug bust.

Alex Flores Avila, 48, of Lawrenceville was arrested for trafficking marijuana and possession of THC oil with intent to distribute.

At the traffic stop, Sept. 5, a K-9 alerted to the odor of illegal substances inside of the black Infiniti G35, resulting in a search of the vehicle. Approximately 12 pounds of marijuana were located in vacuum sealed bags and a large amount of THC Oil wrapped in wax paper. The driver, Avila, was arrested.

The drug task force worked in conjunction with Gwinnett Metro Task Force to secure a search warrant on Flores' Lawrenceville home. This search resulted in the seizure of approximately $105,000 dollars related to drug sales, a pound of marijuana, and more THC Oil.
