Forsyth Senior Services Offers 'Powerful Tools for Caregivers' Class

Forsyth County Senior Service is reaching out to those who are caring for a loved one with a chronic disease, disability or injury, which can be stressful physically, emotionally and financially.

The Rosalynn Carter Institute of Caregiving's Caregivers Network program—a volunteer coalition of caregiver support organizations—is presenting the Powerful Tools for Caregivers class in Cumming. 

Set to start Sept. 13, the 6-week class is designed to help caregivers with the skills and tools they need to take of care of themselves while caregiving. It will meet once a week from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and cover these topics:

• Taking Care of Yourself
• Reducing Stress
• How To Reduce Negative Emotions, Such as Guilt, Anger and Depression 
• Learn How To Communicate Effictively with Other Family Members, Your Doctor and Paid Help
• Making Tough Decisions
• Setting Goals and Problem Solving
• Improving Self Confidence
