Forsyth Senior Services Offers 'Powerful Tools for Caregivers' Class

The weekly class in Cumming starts Sept. 13.

Forsyth County Senior Service is reaching out to those who are caring for a loved one with a chronic disease, disability or injury, which can be stressful physically, emotionally and financially.

The Rosalynn Carter Institute of Caregiving'sΒ Caregivers NetworkΒ programβ€”aΒ volunteer coalition of caregiver support organizationsβ€”is presenting the Powerful Tools for CaregiversΒ class in Cumming.Β 

Set to start Sept. 13, the 6-week classΒ is designed to help caregivers with the skills and tools they need to take of care of themselves while caregiving. It will meet once a weekΒ from 9 to 10:30 a.m. andΒ cover these topics:

  • Taking Care of Yourself
  • Reducing Stress
  • How To Reduce Negative Emotions, Such as Guilt,Β Anger andΒ DepressionΒ 
  • Learn How To Communicate Effictively with Other Family Members, Your Doctor and Paid Help
  • Making Tough Decisions
  • Setting Goals and Problem Solving
  • Improving Self Confidence
