Forsyth Sheriff's Office: Theft Prevention
Keep yourself and your belongings safe this summer and always.

In recent weeks the Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office responded to several incidents around pool and clubhouse parking lots in neighborhoods where vehicles were entered into and items stolen.Β
According to the FCSO, the majority of these incidents took place during daylight hours while people were out and about. In most of these instances, there was no βforced entryβ into the vehicles, as they were left unlocked.Β Β However, in several cases the windows were broken in, as items such as laptop computers and purses were left in the open on the front seat or console.Β
You can avoid being a victim by locking your car doors and putting valuables in the trunk outside of view when out using pools, tennis courts and parks. When shopping, traveling or at the neighborhood recreation areas, please be aware of your surroundings. If possible, carry a small wallet with your cash and credit cards in your front pants pocket. If you must carry a purse, carry one as small as possible. If you leave your purse in your buggy while shopping, make sure it is secured and attached to yourself or the buggy.
Be very observant of any suspicious or criminal activity in and around your subdivision. If you see any suspicious activity, please 911 immediately. For any other issues call the non-emergency number of the sheriff's office at 770-781-3087.
