Georgia Teen Ride with P.R.I.D.E. Course Set for Cumming
The free class is aimed at addressing driver attitudes, knowledge and behavior for new and soon-to-be drivers.

The Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office is registering new andΒ soon-to-be drivers for a free course aimed at addressing driverΒ attitudes, knowledge and behavior.
In cooperation with the Governorβs Office of Highway Safety and the University of Georgiaβs Traffic Injury Prevention Institute, the sheriff's office is presentingΒ the Georgia Teens Ride with P.R.I.D.E. (Parents Reducing Incidents of Driver Error) program, according to the press release.
It was created by GTIPI in an effort to reduce the high number of crashes, injuries and fatalities involving teen drivers in the state of Georgia. This program addresses driverβs attitude, knowledge and behavior rather than technical βhands-onβ driverβs skills. It compliments driverβs education and training. While completion of this course may reduce insurance rates, it does NOT count towards the required 40 hours of supervised driving practice.Β
The nationally recognized P.R.I.D.E. program is a FREE, 2-hour course, for which participantsΒ must register,Β that is designed to help parents and their new or soon-to-be, teen drivers, ages 14 toΒ 16, learn what they need to do during the 40 hours of supervised practice driving time. A parent or guardian MUST attend this course with the teen. (Although this course targets teens 14 toΒ 16 years old, teens of any age may attend).Β Classes are heldΒ quarterly.
Classes in Cumming are set forΒ Thursday, Sept. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Forsyth County Public Safety Complex at 3520 Settingdown Road inΒ Cumming.
