Forsyth County Proposes 7 Percent Hike for 2014 Budget

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is set to meet on the nearly $96 million proposal on Thursday, Oct. 3, for a public hearing.

Forsyth County Commissioners are set to take public comments on the proposed 2014 budget, which calls forΒ 7 percent increaseΒ in spending for operations.

New positions and expanded or new services are part of the nearly $96 million plan, detailed in a presentation,Β above,Β at a recent work session.

Last year, the board of commissioners adopted a $89.6 million budget.

A public hearing on the 2014 proposed budget is set for Oct. 3Β at 5 p.m.Β in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main Street in Cumming.

The board is expected to adopt a budge at itsΒ Oct. 17 meeting.Β
