Local Horse Rescue Raises Funds To Buy Hay for the Winter

(CUMMING, GA) Save the Horses Rescue is holding its 7th annual Calendar Photo Contest fundraiser. This event is designed to collect favorite images of the rescue's animals from supporters for the 2024 Save the Horses Rescue Calendar. The Fundraiser is designed to raise funds through a donate -to-vote system, where friends and family vote for their favorite images. The 12 highest voted images will appear in the calendar and the top vote will win the coveted cover position.

Each year, the Save the Horses Photo Contest Fundraiser kicks off their end of year fundraising activities, whose goal is to raise critical funds to buy hay for over 100 rescued horses and 30 other animals for the winter.

Horses Need Hay To Thrive

Horses need winter hay to thrive during the months when grass is not available. Hay is expensive and costs the rescue around $34,000, per year. As an all-volunteer non-profit, Save the Horses does not receive any sustained grants or any funds from the local or federal government. All funds to operate the resue are donated by generous supporters, so fundraisers like this are critical to the success of the rescue.

"With the economic instability over the past few years, donations have slowed down but the amount of horses needing help has increased tremendously. We do everything we can to feed not only our own horses but we also help with community needs for hay." Says Cheryl Flanagan, the Rescue's Founder.

Save the Horses is inviting the public to participate in the photo contest by voting for their favorite image ($1 per vote) or purchasing a Business Card Ad within the calendar ($150) with exposure to over 30,000 supporters all year. And/or by Pre-Ordering the 2024 Rescue Calendar for $25.

All proceeds benefit Savethehorses.org (Horse Rescue Relief, & Retirement Fund.) and are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
