Input Sought On Southeast Forsyth Residential Design Standards

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA – Forsyth County is seeking input on residential design standards in the southeast portion of the county. The approximate boundaries for this area are Georgia 400 to the west, McGinnis Ferry Rd. to the south and the Highway 20 vicinity to the north. Public feedback is needed to assist with the establishment of standards that reflect distinctive character for future development in this area.

The community is encouraged to participate and assist with the design process. The content and format will be the same at all three sessions:

- Aug. 1, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sharon Forks Library (2820 Old Atlanta Rd.), Meeting Room A

- Aug. 6, 6-8 p.m., Old Atlanta Park Recreation Center (810 Nichols Rd.), Community Room
- Aug. 9, 6-8 p.m., Old Atlanta Park Recreation Center (810 Nichols Rd.), Community Room

The listening sessions are designed to gather responses on preferred design standards, which will include exercises addressing different design concepts and potential strategies to highlight community identity, so that community priorities may be integrated into the draft requirements.

“We are excited to meet with stakeholders regarding these design standards,” said Deputy Director of Planning and Community Development Vanessa Bernstein-Goldman. “Getting public feedback is vital, so I am hopeful that members of the community will make plans to join us to offer their perspective and share ideas.”
