Lake Lanier T-Shirt Deadline Is Near

The deadline is near for a T-shirt contest that is connected to a popular Lake Lanier event.

According to a blog post on lakelanier.com, deadline is Thursday, Aug. 15 to enter the design competition for the 2013 Shore Sweep T-shirt contest.

The annual Shore Sweep event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 at Bald Ridge Marina (Exit 15) in Cumming, one of several locations participating in this year's clean up.

Here is info on the design contest:

• artwork must be original;
• submissions must include the artist’s name, address, and phone number;
• submissions become the property of the Lake Lanier Association;
• the design must be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches (the size of standard size copy paper);
• Submissions must be mailed or delivered to Lake Lanier Association, 615F Oak Street, Suite 100, Gainesville, GA 30501.

The Shore Sweep event is manned by volunteers who remove debris from the lake.
