Man Jumps Off Jet Ski, Disappears In Gwinnett County: Reports

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A man went missing in Gwinnett County Saturday afternoon after jumping off a jet ski in Lake Lanier by East Bank Park and trying to swim to shore, according to multiple reports.

The man— identified by his family as Walter Guardado in an interview with Atlanta News First—jumped near Buford Dam Road, according to WSB-TV.

His girlfriend set off looking for him but could not find him, authorities told both outlets.

Gwinnett and Hall County authorities said they searched the water until sundown Saturday and continued Sunday morning, Atlanta News First reported.

A Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services representative confirmed to Patch around 2:30 p.m. Sunday that crews were still looking for a missing jet skier.
