Manhunt Underway for Escaped Inmates
Two inmates who escaped last week from work release detail in Hall County are still at large.

A manhunt is underwayΒ for two menΒ who escaped from a work release program in Hall County, according to authorities.
The men are identified asΒ Joseph Dale McAllister, 38, of Cleveland andΒ Randall Darryl Ladd, 35, of Gainesville.Β
A press release stated, sheriff's deputies responded to a call just after noon on SundayΒ in the area ofΒ Ponderosa Farm Road in south Hall County regarding two suspicious men. One of the men was allegedlyΒ going door-to-door because his vehicle had run out of gas. When deputies arrived, one man fled on foot and the other was not located. A check of the vehicle registration revealed that it was registered to a suspect who was wanted for failing to return to work release, aΒ felony.
The sheriff's office along with K9 teams and theΒ Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit trackedΒ the suspectsΒ for a considerable distance before losing the track. The eventually called off the search just after 4 p.m.
McAllister andΒ Ladd, who were both employed as landscapers,Β left theirΒ work release detailΒ on Wednesday,Β Sept.Β 18, and failed toΒ returnΒ at the appointed time.Β
McAllister is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 205 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Ladd is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 195 pounds, with red/blonde hair andΒ hazel eyes.
