More Than 5,500 Christmas Trees Recycled in Forsyth County

Free wood chips are available to Forsyth County residents while supplies last near the Forsyth County Roads and Bridges facility on County Way just off of GA 400.

Forsyth County’s Christmas tree recycling effort organized by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) recycled more than 5,500 trees. The recycled trees were processed into wood chips.

According to a press release, Forsyth County residents have now recycled more than 85,000 trees since the county first began participating in the β€œBring One for the Chipper” event in 1994.

Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright extended her thanks to Davey Tree Service, Sawnee EMC and Forsyth County Roads and Bridges for providing chipping services for the trees. Wright also thanked all volunteers who provided time and leadership at the tree recycling locations throughout the county and all those who participated in the tree recycling effort including the Forsyth County Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists and 4-H Club members.

Free wood chips are available to Forsyth County residents while supplies last near the Forsyth County Roads and Bridges facility on County Way just off of GA 400. The wood chips are available to Forsyth County residents at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. The quantity and availability are expected to vary, and residents are responsible for loading and hauling their own wood chips.
