- A northern bypass around downtown is coming. The City of Cumming approved a pair of land purchases for a road project and is starting to take steps toward an expansion of Sawnee Drive. Over the weekend, crews worked to clear land for the new Sawnee Village mixed-use development. (Forsythe News)
- Great Decisions: America's Global Affairs Discussion Program at Forsyth Library is starting up for 2023. Jan. 25 kicks off the library's seven-week discussion for high schoolers and adults to debate their thoughts on global affairs with expert guest speakers. Jan. 25's topic will be "War Crimes" with special guest Dr. John Romero. (Forsyth County Public Library)
- Did you make it to the Cumming Farmer's Market this past weekend? Though it was a brisk morning, vendors and locals made their Saturday count with delicious homemade food and striking items. - Yesterday (Jan. 23), Highway 9 southbound and Majors Road westbound were shut down for a crash. Drivers were encouraged to find alternate routes. Officers responded to the scene of the accident and details are still developing. As of the time of this writing, officials were unsure of how long the highway would be shut down. - New jobs are available in Cumming and across greater Georgia. Looking for a new position in the sales, customer service, or warehousing industries? Dozens of new jobs are looking for motivated individuals in and around Cumming.
