Poll Results: Supreme Court Upholds Obamacare in 5-4 Ruling

We asked you to weigh in on the high court's recent decision and you did.

The Supreme Court decided on a 5-4 vote on Thursday, June 28, that the Affordable Care Act, which mandates every American to purchase health insurance, is constitutional.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts provided the decisive vote. The judges said the individual mandate cannot be upheld under the commerce clause, but that Congress's ability to tax and spend in this case is upheld. Justices Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented.

Seventy-two percent of readers who took  said the Supreme Court made a bad decision on the ruling. Only 23 percent said the judges made the right call and four percent were not sure. We also received more than 35 comments on the decision.
