Record Attendance at Cumming Fair
For the first time in the history of the Cumming Fair a record was broken.

Attendance at this year's Cumming Country Fair and Festival was the highest it’s ever been since the fair began in 1995.
Over the 11-day period, there were 141,027 people that came to this year's fair, according to Dave Horton, director of the fairgrounds.
"We had a lot of new visitors, a lot people coming up and saying they've never been," he said. "It was just a great 11-day run."

This year's fair had an abundance of entertainment including, live music from the Charlie Daniels Band.
"Charlie always packs the house," said Horton.

Other contributing factors to the record crowds this year was the good weather, along with old favorites like the Miss Cumming Fair Pageant, ground acts, local entertainment, a lot of food, discounted days, the rides and Heritage Village.
"We had a wonderful display down there, it was full, we had people going down continuously throughout the fair," said Horton.
While this year's fair has come and gone, Horton said plans are already underway for the 2013 fair.
"We're full speed ahead with that and look forward to having a bigger and better fair," he said.
Horton also thanked the staff at the fairgrounds, the mayor and council, and city staff for a successful event, along with the media for getting the word out about the fair.Â
