Sex Offender Arrested on Halloween

A Cumming sex offender is back behind bars after Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies say he was discovered violating his probation on Halloween night.

Jerry Cecil Welch, 57, was found to be drunk and in possession of a large amount of candy at his home in the 2600 block of Wanda Woods Road, according to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page. Deputies had come to check in on Welch as part of their monthly probation compliance visits to the area’s registered sex offenders.

Welch was arrested for his probation violations, the department said. Forsyth County jail records indicate Welch is still in custody as of Wednesday.
