Student Arrested After Police Chase
The South Forsyth student led sheriff's deputies on a dangerous chase following a rivalry football game last week.

A South Forsyth High School student was arrested after nearly running over a sheriffβs deputy and leading other deputies on a high-speed pursuit following a recent sporting event, according to an incident report.
Following the South Forsyth - West Forsyth football game just before 10:30 Friday night, sheriffβs deputies directing traffic at West Forsyth were alerted to a black pick-up truck approaching the exit at a high rate of speed. The pick-up nearly hit one deputy, then swerved in and out of traffic before turning into Michaels Way.
Reaching a dead end, deputies attempted to block off the truckβs route of escape but the truckΒ drove through the yard of a home, struck another homeβs mailbox, and kept fleeing, the report says. After driving on the wrong side of Drew Road, the truck continued on Bethelview Road towards Ga. 400.

Deputies pursued the erratic driver until he stopped at his home in the Margate subdivision, where he was arrested, according to the report.
The 17-year-old male driver has been charged with felony aggravated assault, felony attempting to elude police, misdemeanor reckless driving, misdemeanor criminal trespass, and misdemeanor failure to report an accident, the report states.
