The King of Rock and Roll Remembered

It was 35 years ago this week (Aug. 16) the world lost the King of Rock and Roll.

This week marks the 35th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley and while he may be gone – his memory lives on with millions of fans all around the world that loved him, his music and his legacy.

An estimated 75,000 Elvis fans gathered at the gates of Graceland to celebrate the life and legacy of the King of Rock and Roll on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The fans were also treated with an unexpected surprise – Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley greeted guests at the gates for the Candlelight Vigil, according to a press release on the Elvis Presley website.

Elvis' daughter and former wife also sat down with The Today Show for their first interview together at the famous mansion that was once home to the family.
