West Forsyth Graduate Singer/Songwriter Nominated for Album & Song of the Year

Tom D'Ademo and his band Me, Like Many are in the running for IMEA's Alternative Song of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year.

Singer/Songwriter Tom D’Ademo, this week announced that he, and his band β€œMe, Like Many”, has been nominated in two categories for Alternative Song of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year, by the International Music and Entertainment Association (IMEA). Tom’s nominated album titled β€œIn The Moment”, released late last year, is an acoustic presentation of original songs on guitar and piano, includes the nominated song β€œDream Girl”. The album includes one full band track titled β€œDead Leaves” that featured musicians Pete DeLeo on drums, Steven White on bass, and brother Dan D’Ademo on electric guitar. All the songs were written by Tom and the album was recorded at Horizon Music Group in West Haven, engineered by Vic Steffens.

Manager Laura Russo said, β€œWe are very excited that we have received these nominations. Tom’s fast growing fan base, album sales and the IMEA nomination, validates that people are listening, liking and sharing his music. ”

Tom began writing under the name, β€œMe, Like Many” a few years ago after moving to Georgia from Connecticut. His first public performance was at Eddie Owen Presents at The Red Clay Music Foundry located in Duluth, GA, in 2012 playing open mic nights. Eddie Owen, who is the founder of Eddie’s Attic, has helped launch the careers of John Meyer, Jennifer Nettles, and The Indigo Girls, to name a few. Tom was then introduced to Grady Shuman, President of The Association of Music Professionals (AMP), who invited him to join SESAC, the world’s second largest performing rights organization, which Tom became a member of in 2013. Since leaving Georgia and moving back to Milford, Tom has been performing around CT and was a featured artist at The Elm City Music Fest, The New Haven Music Festival, Singer/Songwriter Cape May (NJ), The Sound of Summer Concert, and was a finalist of β€œThe Star on the Web” contest last year. He has performed at local venues including The Space, The Room, Foxwoods and Toads Place. He also works at RVP Studio’s in West Haven, CTas a part time stage manager, and takes voice lessons there with Rose Cappola, who trained American Idol winner Nick Fradiani. Tom is a 2013 graduate of West Forsyth High School and past member of The Pride of the West Marching Band.

Manager Ken D’Ademo said of his son β€œI don’t know where the music will take us, but from what the music professionals tell us, Tom has what it takes to go far, and getting this nomination proves he has the right stuff. He has been blessed with a wonderful talent of writing, singing and playing multiple instruments. I believe he is someone to keep an eye on.”
