Lambert High School receives two nominations and two honorable mentions for Little Women and South Forsyth High School received one honorable mention for Anything Goes.

A total of 50 high schools from 16 counties across Georgia have been nominated in various categories for this year's Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards. The winners will be announced in a "Tony Awards-style" ceremony on April 18 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre with the annual red carpet event at 6 p.m. and the awards show at 7:30 p.m. The ceremony is expected to be glitz and glamour "Hollywood" style for students and attendees.

Marietta native and Tony award winner Shuler Hensley, 46, created the awards and ceremony because he wanted to recognize high school musical theatre, which helped shaped his career on the stage.

The Shuler Hensley Awards is an initiative of the ARTSBRIDGE education program. Through sources and activities like field trip programs, artists-in-schools, master classes and more, the program offers uniquely powerful arts education tools to educators throughout the Atlanta metro area. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Foundation, a non-profit organization, launched the program in 2007.
