Woman Killed In Cumming Crash Identified

CUMMING — The woman who was killed Monday night after being hit by a vehicle at Keith Bridge Road near Freedom Parkway has been identified by authorities as a 44-year-old Gainesville resident.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Melissa Browne was crossing the roadway around 8:30 p.m., when she was hit by a Dodge Caravan.

Authorities previously noted the street was unlit "aside from some ambient lighting."

The 57-year-old driver from Cumming immediately stopped after the crash, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, and it is unknown if there will be any charges in the case.
