Here are the top four stories in Dacula today:
- The girl's softball team at Dacula High School narrowly beat Mountain View at their latest game. After a heated and intense match, Dacula managed to edge out their opponents to take a 6-5 victory. Visit the school website to see the schedule for upcoming games.(Gwinnett Prep Sports)
- A 19-year-old has been arrested for bringing a weapon to a Gwinnett County high school. Brian Fort was witnessed strolling through the halls of Archer High School over the weekend with a shotgun. Police arrived on the scene and demanded that Fort lower his weapon; he complied with the order. Fort, who was not a student at the high school, is facing weapons charges. ( Yahoo News)
- The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has started its nationwide search for the students that will be honored as 2023 National Merit Scholars, and 71 Gwinnett County School seniors are vying for the title. The winners of the coveted National Merit Scholarship receive scholarships with a value of nearly $28 million. There are 7,250 available scholarships that will be awarded throughout the country. - It's hard to tell which where to begin looking when you decide to buy a new house. Luckily, some new properties in the Dacula area have just hit the local market. There's a six-bedroom, five-bathroom home on Green Knoll Drive that's going for just under $700,000 that will be hosting an open house this weekend.
