  1. Dacula's Nakita Hemmingway's opponent for Commissioner of Agriculture spoke with Chuck Williams during WRBL's Sunday Conversation. Sen. Tyler Harper of Ocilla is vacating his state senate position to run for the open position against Democrat Hemmingway. The election is scheduled for Nov. 8.   2. Gwinnett County will be hosting a series of six hiring events at various Gwinnett County library branches through late September. The first hiring event will be at the Lawrenceville Branch Library on Wednesday between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Dacula Branch Library hiring event will be on Sept. 9 between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The purpose is to find enough poll workers for the upcoming election.   3. Gwinnett County has extended its deadline for nonprofits to apply for Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery funds through Sept. 9. The program will be distributing $4.25 million in funds.
