  1. The Gwinnett County Fair will take place from Sep. 15 through Sep. 25. This year's fair has two new policies. First, no one under the age of 16 will be allowed entry after 5:00 p.m. without a parent present. Second, only clear bags are allowed at the fair. 2. The Gwinnett County GOP has been condemned by the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations for welcoming an anti-Muslim speaker to their Aug. 6 breakfast event. The event was titled "The War Against the West" and was hosted at the organization's headquarters. Gwinnett County has over 20 mosques and Muslim religious centers along with a considerable Muslim population. (CAIR)
  3. A petition meant to bring back WiFi access to Gwinnett County Public Schools has garnered 10,000 signatures. The district claims that WiFi access has caused distractions as students visit non-educational websites and social media in class. Supporters of WiFi access in the district's schools claim that it is necessary to communicate with parents and coordinate rides after school. The district hopes that allowing students to bring their own devices to school while disabling WiFi networks is a reasonable middle ground. (AJC.com)
