- Dacula's Barbara Rowley received a special birthday surprise on Saturday while celebrating her 80th. Dacula Mayor Trey Kind and his wife Dawn surprised Rowley with flowers and special birthday wishes during a celebration at Little Mulberry Park. "I can't believe the mayor came to my party," reports Rowley with a big smile. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- Gwinnett Animal Welfare is hosting a Clear the Shelters adoption drive on Saturday. The event will feature free pet adoptions, music, vendors, and face painting from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All adoption-ready pets are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopted pets will be able to go home on the same day. (Gwinnett County)
- Georgia's newest citizens could play a big role in the outcome of Gwinnett County's elections. According to The National Partnership for New Americans, 97,000 citizens were naturalized in Georgia since 2016. About 75 percent of these new citizens are from Asia and the Americas.
