Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. Gwinnett County Public Schools received grant money to boost their cyber education efforts. The funds were provided by Cyberstart America for efforts that the district's students exhibited during its free game challenge that ran through Apr. 27, 2022. Georgia had the most students competing in the game with a student from each of the state's high schools competing. (Forsyth County News)
  2. Next week, the Gwinnett County Public Library's Dacula branch will be hosting a series of fun events for patrons of all ages! On Tuesday, Jun. 7, bring the little ones for an educational puppet show about the deep blue sea. On Wednesday the 8th, there will be two storytime sessions and Dacula's 5th annual participation in World Ocean Day "SHARKS!" Then, on the 9th, the library's adult book club will discuss "What Happened to You" by Dr. Perry and Oprah Winfrey to support PTSD Awareness Month. See the library's calendar of events and filter by location to the Dacula branch for full details. (Gwinnett County Public Library)
  3. A Dacula native was one of seven Duke football players selected to the Athlon Sports 2022 preseason All-ACC team, according to the organization. Last season, senior linebacker Shaka Heyward led the team and ranked fifth in the ACC with 98 tackles. He also earned three double-digit tackle performances, and in 10 out of 12 games, Heyward led or finished second on the team in tackles. Congratulations, Shaka Heyward! (GoDuke.com)
