Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:
- Gwinnett County families are reapplying for free or reduced-price school meals. The federal government guaranteed free lunches during the COVID-19 pandemic. That guarantee expires this school year. The USDA will continue to grant waivers through Sep. 30. Click the following link for income requirements for the free or reduced-price school lunches for the 2022-2023 school year. (WRDW)
- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an apparent suicide by a suspect following an incident that occurred at a Gwinnett County gas station. The suspect fled an incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the QuickTrip on the 2000 block of Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross. The man apparently proceeded to fatally shoot himself at a home near Indian Trail Lilburn Road. (WSBTV)
- The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has approved a Water Storage Agreement. The approval will allow Gwinnett County to utilize storage volume in Lake Lanier through an annual $1.5 million fee to the state. Additional fees to cover repair, rehabilitation, and operation will be assessed on a yearly basis. (Gwinnett County)
