Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. A Gwinnett County man has been arrested for a double shooting that occurred near the University of Georgia campus. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the 200 block of West Clayton Street. Both of the shooting victims are expected to survive the incident. Corey Austin, 24 years old, has been charged with aggravated assault and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  2. The Gwinnett County Public Schools graduation rate rose last year. The district's four-year graduation rate was 83.15 percent in 2022 β€” higher than 2021's 82.48 percent. The Georgia Department of Education also reported that eight district high schools posted a graduation rate above 90 percent last year. (Main Street News)
  3. Advance voting begins on Oct. 17 in Gwinnett County. Registered voters will be allowed to vote in person at the Gwinnett Voter Registration and Election Office in Lawrenceville from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Absentee ballots will also be available by request through Oct. 28. (Gwinnett County)
