Gwinnett Deputies Find Rape Suspect After Learning He Was at Bait Shop
Robert Veit of Dacula was arrested without incident; he faces rape, aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment charges.

A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a rape reported last month in Gwinnett County.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office said deputies from the agency’s fugitive unit arrested Robert Veit, 44, Monday after developing information he was at a local bait shop. He was wanted by Gwinnett Police for a July 30 incident, “in which a woman called police to report that Veit had just sexually assaulted her,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Deputies found Veit at Twin Bridges Lake, located at 1119 Braselton Highway near Lawrenceville. He was taken into custody without incident.
