  1. Dacula's Amanda Edmondson has been selected as the City of Dawsonville's new Director of Downtown Development, Tourism, and Preservation. She says growing up in Dacula will help her in the new position since the two cities are so similar. Edmondson's family has been active in local government with her grandfather serving on the Dacula City Council and her grandmother serving on the Dacula Planning Commission.   2. Authorities have arrested a suspect in Elijah DeWitt's homicide investigation. Chandler Zion Richardson, 19, was arrested on Thursday in South Carolina at a QT gas station. The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently gathering more information while conducting a thorough investigation into the star high school football player's death in Lawrenceville. (11 Alive)
  3. Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County experienced multiple delays on Wednesday morning due to major wrecks. The interstate's lanes were closed for a few hours as crews worked to remove the multiple tractor-trailers involved in the crash. Traffic was diverted onto Satellite Boulevard and Buford Highway until the lanes were reopened around 8:00 a.m. (Fox 5 Atlanta)

  • The National Faith and Blue Food Distribution will be on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 1575 Lawrenceville Highway. This is a free event and food will begin being distributed at 4:00 p.m. (Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
