Man Shot Dead in Dacula-Area Driveway, Police Say

Gwinnett PD is investigating a Wednesday night shooting on Windsong Park Drive, possibly after a dispute on the road.

Gwinnett Police are investigating a fatal shooting Wednesday night near Dacula, possibly the result of a roadway disagreement.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. to a person shot call at 1625 Windsong Park Drive in unincorporated Dacula, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, police said in an email. The man died at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

His name is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

Gwinnett Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said a neighbor called 911 reporting that a man had been shot. The victim, shooter and a witness were all at the scene.

β€œThe shooter told the responding officers that this incident may have resulted from a roadway disagreement,” Pihera said in the email. β€œThe victim and the witness (both inside a red truck) followed the shooter (driving a silver truck) to the shooter’s home on Windsong Park Drive. Once at the home, the victim and shooter continued their disagreement. The shooter shot the victim in the driveway of his home.”

Pihera said the shooter and witness were taken to police headquarters for interviews.
