Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. Brian Garfield Fort, 19 years old, is now facing gun charges for bringing a shotgun to a Gwinnett County school football game. A school resource officer stopped Fort after individuals reported spotting him on the Archer High School campus in nearby Lawrenceville with the shotgun. He complied with the officer and put the gun down. Two more guns were located when Fort was searched. Fort was not a student at the school. (WSBTV)
  2. A new county ordinance allows the Gwinnett County Police Department to impound vehicles involved in illegal racing for up to a month. The new ordinance is modeled after similar laws in Atlanta and Sandy Springs. The county hopes that the new ordinance will deter drag racing in the county. (11 Alive)
  3. A Thursday morning apartment fire has resulted in four adults being displaced. The fire occurred at 8:53 a.m. in Gwinnett County's Spruce Circle. Despite the fire only being located in one apartment, another apartment was affected. The fire also displaced six pets. Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services is reminding residents to check their smoke detectors. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
