  1. Leadership Gwinnett Foundation Board of Directors has named its newest chair. Alisa Toney will now be leading the board. She is also Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine's senior director of development. Leadership Gwinnett Foundation is an organization that educates local leaders on how to increase their impact on the community. (North Gwinnett Voice)
  2. Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team has been ranked as No. 23 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll. The ranking was announced on Wednesday by the organization's national office. During the 2021 schedule, the team had a 9-6-1 record. The team's 2022 season starts on Aug. 24. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
  3. A beloved lifelong Dacula resident and public servant will be honored by those who loved her at a Celebration of Life Service tomorrow, Aug. 13. Betty McElhannon Hale passed away in her home on Jul. 18 at the age of 89. She worked for Gwinnett Public Schools for 20 years, and served on the Gwinnett County grand jury and the Dacula planning commission after her retirement. Hale's service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. (City of Dacula)
